Peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, January 16, 2012 of Aletha Mae Hughes (Doyle-Wheatley-Alchorn) of Charlottetown, age 70 years.
She is survived by daughters and son, Donna-Marie MacLeod (Rick) of Stratford, Carolyn Read (Brian) of Sherwood, Cathy Theriault (Lawrence) of Regina, Sask., Pattie Doyle (Randy Crosby) of Charlottetown, and Jamie Doyle of Charlottetown.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Lisa MacLeod (Adam Dougan), Jana MacLeod, Caleb Read, Rebecca Read, Olivia Read, Craig Theriault, Daniel Theriault, Anthony Doyle, Nicholas Doyle, Benjamin Crosby; 2 great-grandchildren, Felix and Tristan; brothers and sisters, Paul Hughes (Helen), Imelda Squires (Willard deceased), Vincent Hughes (Delores), Reggie Hughes (Judy), Margaret Hughes (John), Shirley Bradley (Kenneth), Helen Coffin (Sterling), Mary Affleck (Earl), and Eileen Curran (Pat).
She was predeceased by husbands, Pat Doyle and Cyril Wheatley, parents Charlie and Loretta Hughes (nee Ostridge) of Fort Augustus, infant daughter Lisa Doyle, brothers Francis, Earl, and Donnie Hughes, nephew Deryl Curran.
Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:45 Thursday morning, then transferred to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment later in the family plot at The Roman Catholic Cemetery.
Visiting hours at the funeral home Wednesday 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.
