The death occurred peacefully, with family at his side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Saturday, November 26, 2011, of David Simpson, beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Ford), of Stanley Bridge, age 80.
David was the loving father of Cheryl Simpson, Paul, Scott (Monica), Owen (Judy) and Kirk (Charlotte Requé); and cherished grandfather of Melissa, Ryan and Tyler Trowsdale; Emily and Connor; Bailey and Anna; Gregory, Kathleen, Laura Jane and Julianna; and David.
He is also survived by his sisters, Marie Bell (Matt), Cindy MacKenzie and Martie MacFadyen; sisters-in-law, Hazel Simpson, Freda Ford and Barbara Simpson-Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Cedric and Marjorie (Enman) Simpson; daughter-in-law, Deanna; brothers and sisters, Arthur, Sylvia Bell (Edwin), Ruby Bakker (Henry) and Robert; brothers-in-law, Joe MacKenzie, Glen MacFadyen and Wendell Ford; his special aunts, Sadie Simpson, Irene Simpson and Martha Williams; and his special cousin, Clifford Simpson.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow for visitation on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral will be held at Central Queen’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment in Cavendish Cemetery.
Due to allergies, please refrain from using scented products.
