Dear Peter:

I have just now learned of Gail’s death on September 11th. I have many fond memories of her when we were young. I am so glad that she was able to visit you in Vancouver this past summer.

You have my deepest sympathy.

Peter,

Sorry to read of Gail’s passing. I was watching a program on the CBC about PEI and Googled her only to find the notice. It’s been a few years since we were in touch but I thought I would drop you a note. Gail was always our hero and protector growing up on Stratford Road. I was on the island a few years ago on Government business and tried to get together with her but she was unavailable.

I retired last year from a career as an Architect and Real Estate executive and am now living in Eganville, Ontario, on the way to Algonquin Park from Ottawa. My partner Sharon McKenna and I have 3 kids between us, Billy, Christine and Rachel. We are both artists and enjoy painting in Québec and Algonquin Park.

I hope you are well and enjoying life out there. I remember your family well. By the way, in Ottawa working for the Government before I retired, we met up with the late David deBelle, with whom we enjoyed many wonderful Plein air painting trips. He was responsible for getting us in to a group of local artists and we really appreciated his friendship.

Take care,

Bill

Ps I always remember “apple juice and crackers” and your sitter Mrs. O’Reilly and her Uncle Wigley stories.
