Muriel Lisle

Increase Print Size……….Decrease Print Size

1920 – 2010

Muriel Lisle (nee Preston) passed away on February 25th at the Beach Grove Nursing Home. She was a wonderful person who loved life and lived it with enthusiasm and vigor until her stroke in 2003. She had a sunny disposition and loved a good joke whether she was telling it or hearing it. She loved her family. She and Jack were married for 68 years. She was proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always ready to provide love and support to them.
In an age when women stayed home, she managed to balance home making and the work of a medical secretary in a busy Doctor’s office.
Muriel had a wide circle of friends. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge and was always ready to entertain. She donated her time as a volunteer to her Church, to Meals on Wheels and to WoHeLo. She became an accomplished quilter, and a gourmet cook. She was an avid reader.
She had a sixth sense. She always seemed to know when people needed support and help.
The Family is grateful to the Beach Grove staff for all the tender care Muriel received over the 6 years she lived there and to the Hospice volunteers who provided her with comfort and support.
Muriel is survived by her husband Jack (John), children Douglas, Robert and Susan (Hunter), 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and brother, Harold Preston.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date in British Columbia.
